Tobacco Roots: Ward Peak descent try 1

Usually, if you get out of the Gallatin Valley in any direction, the weather improves. So, looking at a pooky forecast, Jeff L. and I decided to head to the Roots. There had been too much bad weather during the weekends and I was feeling cooped up so we braved thinking it might get better. Well it didnt. So we turned the trip into a recon mission. It snowed on us the whole day and we never saw Ward Peak. We did get all the way up to Kid lake right at the base of it though; up in the Alpine zone. We could barely see the terrain but knew we had found one of THE classic bowls to be b.c. skiing around Bozeman. There are more beautiful lines than you can shake a stick at! Not to mention how awesome the access is; snowmobiles allowed. I WILL be back up there this spring so stand by.
Found a cool ol' mine. This old building is terraced, Jeff is actually standing on a roof thas covered in snow. I think it may have been a mill at one time. The Roots are known for their mining.
Theres a dozen worthy lines in this photo alone!

How do like the performance of the 'Best skin available'? Did I mention they're the most expensive ones available as well? Gecko, you do not have my blessings.  We havnt even got off the trail and they are falling off.
