Emigrant Peak SE couloir

So when I head out into the backcountry to a destination I have never been before for some skiing, I like to be able to see where I am going. It was snowing so hard viz was very limited and the slopes were loading incredibly quickly = BIG red flag. Needless to say we didnt push very far.

But Anna and came back the next weekend and got 'er done! 

Awesome couloir and epic alpine bowl. There is a lot more skiing abck there than just the couloir. 

Skied from just below the summit cornice all the way to the freaking road! That has to be one of MTs longest descents. 

Hyalite Ice: Lower Greensleeves and G1

Anna and I took Sam out for his first ice climbs! Now he's hooked (get it!?).

Thats me running it out on Lower Greensleeves to set up a top rope.

I ended up using one screw.

Then we moved over to G1 for some more top roping. Im leading it here but I end up down climbing.

Me in the chimney. It came in sooo nicely this year. I may not have been leading ice very long but I have been top roping G1 for years.

That upper chimney is my favorite chunk of G1.
