So once upon a time I was under the impression that the New World Gulch Cave actually requires some caving skill and equipment; I was wrong. I skied past it on the way out from Mt.Ellis one day but didnt poke my head in it. I should have. I convinced some friends of mine, Sam, Terra, and Manfred to go on an outing to check it out and what a let down. It only goes back ~12ft and you definitely dont need a headlamp or helmet. We still had a fun afternoon in the snow however.
